The weekend comes, warmer and wetter than the past few days
Just as well our new doors have arrived
and all (well nearly all) the glass is fitted

the space is being cleared for painting and carpeting next week
the ktichen is nearly ready for the cooker and dishwasher
and the toilet is nearly ready too

The Season of Advent starts
Today is the First Sunday of Advent
The first candle on our Advent Wreath was lit
to symbolise our journey of preparation
waiting for Christ's coming -
his return in glory at the end of time -
his first coming among us
when he was born in the stable in Bethlehem -
we do this by our recognising
his daily coming to us at Mass and in one another

December begins
... work continues
... the  partition gets doors
... new lights in the ceiling
... a new window replaces the boarding
... and a boiler for the water to make tea and coffee
in the new kitchen

At the end of the ninth week
The door frame and partition going up

New wider doorway to the new access toilet

... and a water heater for the toilet and sacristy

New plaster on the ceiling drying out

Kitchen progress

the serving hatch and door taking shape

the kitchen units in place

and the cooker and dishwasher...
... are waiting patiently in the church.

Meanwhile we have a new door opening
into the confessional
(that's the one on the left,
not the narrow (old) one on the right)

while inside the heating pipes are being fixed

and the work on the disabled toilet continues.

And we had the old parish room used as a
polling station on Thursday 15th November

Friday and the Kitchen is taking shape
I know it looks a mess now...
it looks better in daylight

that steel pipe is holding the ceiling up now

and now the new confessional is taking shape
and from the other side the new door
from the church is ready to be opened
